Dave Barnett helps leaders find clarity, confidence, and purpose — whether they’re navigating a career transition, stepping into a bigger role, or trying to bring out the best in their teams. He brings over 30 years of experience spanning the tech industry, nonprofit leadership, and global employee engagement at Microsoft.

Certified in evidence-based coaching, Dave quickly builds trust through humor, curiosity, and a genuine interest in your story. He listens deeply before asking the kind of questions that lead to real breakthroughs — then guides leaders toward action that creates ongoing opportunities for growth.

Dave’s career began in electrical engineering at Texas A&M, where he spent 11 years in the tech industry taking on positions of increasing responsibility and developing high-potential employees through the VP level. When his heart called him to service, he took an 8-year sabbatical to direct a youth-oriented nonprofit — recruiting, training, and inspiring staff and volunteers to deliver impactful programs for young people.

He returned to Microsoft as a senior program manager, where he spearheaded the company’s Philanthropies employee giving campaign. Using a train-the-trainer approach, Dave equipped over 1,000 leaders worldwide and expanded a U.S.-focused program into one reaching nearly 200,000 employees globally — achieving 1 million volunteer hours in a single year.

Dave’s personal passion for service has also taken him around the world — counseling orphans, aiding military families, and supporting impoverished communities. These experiences deepened his belief that with the right support, people can overcome any challenge.

Every role I’ve held — in tech, in nonprofits, at Microsoft — has taught me the same thing: people do their best work when someone believes in them and helps them see what’s possible. That’s why I coach. I want to be that person for every leader I work with.

Based in Woodinville, Washington, Dave enjoys spending time with his wife and grown children. When he’s not coaching, you’ll find him fly fishing, hiking, or skiing in the beautiful Pacific Northwest mountains.
